Apartment 16B has large windows that can be fully opened to unfold fantastic views over the harbour with its exclusive seaworthy yachts and commercial fishing vessels. An elevator takes you directly from the parking garage to the apartment's entrance. The apartment itself has been beautifully designed and furnished to the highest standard. It offers essentials such as high speed internet, a large SMART TV, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet. The comfortable boxspring beds guarantee a good night sleep. The apartment comes with a washer and dryer making this apartment very suitable for longer stays as well.
The apartment is part of the Nautical Center Scheveningen, nestled at the second inner harbour of Scheveningen and only 15 minutes away from the vibrant city center of The Hague. Scheveningen is the most famous seaside resort of The Netherlands with an abundance of attractions and beach pavilions. Within walking distance, you'll find the beautiful beach, some of the finest local restaurants, a supermarket, and the 'world-renowned' local fish shop Simonis, with the best fresh fish in town. A leisurely stroll along the promenade takes you to the famous pier with the ferris wheel, and after sunset, you can put on your dancing shoes to enjoy the vibrant nightlife. During your stay, you can also explore one of the many cultural hotspots the city of The Hague has to offer, including world-class attractions like the Louwman car museum, miniature city Madurodam, Legoland and art museums like Escher in the Palace, Mauritshuis, and Voorlinden. Facilities
The area
The 2nd harbor of Scheveningen was built around 1930. It was connected to the 1st harbor through a narrow passageway locally known as “the pipe”. In the surrounding area many smokehouses and fishmongers settled. After the Second World War the importance of fishing gradually disappeared and the smaller vessels vanished. Since then the 2nd port was becoming more and more a recreational and tourist area. Today a lot of old harbor related buildings have been replaced by new residential buildings, shops and restaurants, attracting thousands of visitors during all seasons of the year. The harbor also has become a popular stop over for The Ocean Race, a yacht race around the world takes place every three years. Scheveningen has a Northern and Southern beach of which the Southern is the more quiet one and which is within walking distance from the apartment. The beaches at Scheveningen have a Blue Flag, a European certification for marinas and beaches that are clean and safe. We dare to say that there is no other place in The Netherlands and maybe not even in Europe where visitors will find this unique combination of city culture and beach life on such a small surface.
