3D overview of the apartment
The 2nd harbour of Scheveningen was built around 1930. It was connected to the 1st harbour through a narrow passageway locally known as “the pipe”. In the surrounding area many smokehouses and fishmongers settled. After the Second World War the importance of fishing gradually disappeared and the smaller vessels vanished. Since then the 2nd port was becoming more and more a recreational and tourist area. Today a lot of old harbour related buildings have been replaced by residential buildings, shops and restaurants, attracting thousands of visitors during all seasons of the year. We dare to say that there is no other place in The Netherlands and maybe not even in Europe where tourists will find this unique combination of city culture and beach life on such a small surface.
